Postdipsoplossing
Postdipsoplossing is a Dutch term used in industrial process engineering to denote a liquid bath applied after a dipping step in surface treatment. The word combines post- (after), dips (dipping), and oplossing (solution). In practice, a postdipsoplossing is designed to modify the surface after dipping by cleaning, neutralizing, protecting, or conditioning it before subsequent processing.
Applications are found in metal finishing (such as galvanizing and electroplating), printed circuit board and electronics
Common functions include rinsing away residual chemicals from the previous bath, neutralizing pH, depositing corrosion inhibitors
Typical composition consists of water as a solvent, for example corrosion inhibitors, surfactants, chelating agents, pH
Terminology and usage vary by region and industry; in Dutch-language sources, the term describes this post-dipping
