Positiivipaperit
Positiivipaperit, a Finnish term often translated as "positive papers" or "positivity papers," are a type of investment instrument, typically a bond, that offers a return based on the positive performance of an underlying asset or index. Unlike traditional bonds that pay a fixed or floating coupon, the interest paid by a positiivipaperi is linked to market movements. If the underlying asset performs well, the investor receives a return. If the asset performs poorly or declines, the investor might receive no interest, or in some cases, their principal could be at risk depending on the specific terms of the instrument.
These instruments are a form of structured product, meaning they are designed to offer a specific payoff
Positiivipaperit are generally considered more complex than plain vanilla bonds and are often targeted at investors
