Populationen refers to populations in biological, ecological, and demographic contexts. In biology and ecology, a population is a group of individuals of the same species occupying a defined area and capable of interbreeding. In human demography, the term describes the number of people living in a geographic unit such as a country, region, or city. The concept encompasses both the size of the group and its structure over time.
