Polyvinylbutyraali
Polyvinylbutyraali, often abbreviated as PVB, is a thermoplastic polymer derived from polyvinyl alcohol and butyraldehyde. It is a transparent, amorphous material with excellent adhesion properties, particularly to glass. PVB is synthesized through a reaction involving polyvinyl alcohol and butyraldehyde in the presence of an acid catalyst. The resulting polymer chain contains both hydroxyl and butyral groups, which contribute to its unique characteristics.
