Polkupyöräreitit, literally “bicycle routes” in Finnish, are dedicated paths, lanes, or shared roads that are designed or designated for bicycle traffic. They form part of a broader network of multimodal transport infrastructure that encourages sustainable mobility and improves safety for non‑motorized users.

Typical polkupyöräreitit fall into three categories. Dedicated bike lanes are separated from motorised traffic by physical barriers such as curbs, planters, or concrete dividers.
