Polimerizált

Polimerizált is a Hungarian term that translates to "polymerized" in English. It refers to the process by which monomers, which are small molecules, join together to form long chains or three-dimensional networks called polymers. This chemical reaction can occur through various mechanisms, including addition polymerization and condensation polymerization.

In addition polymerization, monomers add to one another in a way that the repeating unit of the polymer contains all the atoms of the monomer. This is common for monomers with double or triple bonds, such as ethylene forming polyethylene. Condensation polymerization, on the other hand, involves the reaction between monomers with the elimination of a small molecule, like water or methanol. Examples include the formation of polyesters or polyamides.
