Podceuje

Podceuje is a term that appears in Czech-language contexts to denote the act of undervaluing or underestimating something or someone. The standard infinitive of the related verb is podceňovat; the corresponding noun is podceňování. The prefix pod- conveys the sense of “under,” and cen- is linked to cena, meaning price or value, with the suffix -ovat forming the verb.

In standard Czech, the present tense forms of the verb are podceňuje (he/she underestimates) and podceňují (they underestimate). The form podceuje is not standard and is generally considered erroneous or dialectal, often arising through misspelling or omission of diacritics in informal writing or in non-native usage.

Usage of the concept covers situations where a person, assessment, risk, or potential is judged to be of lesser value than it actually is.
