Pluralitybased is a descriptive term used to characterize decision-making and evaluation methods that determine outcomes by plurality rather than by a strict majority. In such systems, the winning option is the one with the largest share of support, even if that share is less than 50 percent of the total.

The term appears in political science, organizational governance, and algorithmic decision contexts. It contrasts with majority-based methods, where a candidate or option must receive more than half of votes, and with proportional approaches that allocate outcomes in proportion to support.
