Plastlehte

Plastlehte is a term sometimes used to refer to plastic sheeting or film. This material is manufactured from various polymers, most commonly polyethylene, polypropylene, and polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Its applications are widespread due to its versatility, durability, and cost-effectiveness.

Common forms of plastlehte include thin films used for packaging, such as food wraps and industrial shrink wrap, as well as thicker sheets utilized in construction. In building, it serves as a vapor barrier to prevent moisture migration, a protective layer during painting or renovation, or as a ground cover to suppress weeds. Agricultural uses include mulching films to retain soil moisture and regulate temperature, and greenhouse coverings.

Plastlehte can be produced in a range of thicknesses, opacities, and colors, and may be treated with additives to enhance properties like UV resistance, flame retardancy, or antistatic capabilities. Recycling efforts are in place for many types of plastlehte to mitigate environmental impact, though collection and processing can vary by region and material composition.
