Plastibellkiinnitys, often referred to as a Plastibell device, is a method for male circumcision. It involves a plastic ring placed under the foreskin with a string tied tightly around it. This constricts blood flow to the foreskin, causing it to eventually detach and fall off within a week to ten days.

The procedure is typically performed by a medical professional. Prior to insertion, a local anesthetic is often administered to minimize discomfort. The plastic ring is then positioned beneath the foreskin, and a sterile ligature is used to secure it tightly around the base of the glans. The ends of the foreskin are then trimmed to meet the edge of the ring.

Following the Plastibellkiinnitys, the circumcision site requires regular cleaning and monitoring. It is important to keep the area dry and clean to prevent infection. As the foreskin dies due to lack of blood supply, it will detach along with the ring. This method is generally considered safe when performed correctly, but potential complications can include infection, bleeding, or issues with the ring itself.
