Plastfóli

Plastfóli, also known as plastic wrap or cling film, is a thin sheet of plastic used for sealing food items in containers. It is typically made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or polyethylene. Plastfóli is widely used in kitchens and food industries to keep food fresh and prevent it from drying out or absorbing odors. Its flexibility and stretchability allow it to conform to various shapes, creating an airtight seal.

The primary function of plastfóli is to act as a barrier against moisture and air. This helps to preserve the quality and extend the shelf life of food products. It is commonly used to cover bowls of leftovers, wrap individual food items like sandwiches or fruits, and line baking pans to prevent sticking. The transparent nature of most plastfóli allows for easy identification of the contents.

Many types of plastfóli are not easily recyclable and can contribute to landfill waste and pollution.
