Plasmanäytöt, often referred to as plasma displays, are a type of flat-panel display technology that generates light using small cells containing plasma. Each of these cells acts as a tiny fluorescent lamp. When an electric voltage is applied to the electrodes within a cell, the gas inside becomes ionized, forming a plasma. This plasma then emits ultraviolet light, which in turn excites phosphors coating the back of the cell. These phosphors then emit visible light, creating the image on the screen.
