Planeeritavale

Planeeritavale is an Estonian grammatical form. It is the allative singular form of the adjective planeeritav, which means “to be planned” or “to-be-planned.” The form is used to describe a noun phrase where planning is in the future or anticipated, typically indicating the target of planning rather than the act itself. In practice, planeeritavale appears in contexts where an item is referred to as something that will or should be planned, such as projects, tasks, or initiatives.

Morphology and formation: the base stem comes from the verb planeerida (to plan). The present passive participle suffix -tav yields planeeritav (the thing that is to be planned). To express direction or recipient in Estonian, the allative ending -le is added, producing planeeritavale as the modifier for a noun in the allative case within a noun phrase. For example, planeeritavale projektile means “to the project that is to be planned” or, more naturally in English, “the planned-for project” when used in Estonian sentences with the noun projekt in the allative.

Usage notes: planeeritavale is common in planning or bureaucratic language, especially in formal documents, proposals, and public administration texts. It often co-occurs with nouns in the allative case, such as projektile, tegevusele, or valdkonnale, to mark the item that will be planned.
