Planckun

Planckun is a hypothetical elementary particle invoked in discussions of Planck-scale physics and in some science fiction narratives. The term combines Planck, in reference to the Planck epoch and Planck scale, with the suffix -un, a convention used in several speculative models to denote a particle or quantum state.

In theoretical treatments, Planckun is described as a bosonic quantum with energy near the Planck energy and a Compton wavelength on the order of the Planck length, placing it at the boundary between quantum mechanics and general relativity. Some models envision Planckun as a neutral, non-interacting carrier of quantum gravitational effects, while others assign it additional couplings to hypothetical scalar or gauge fields.

Its role varies: as a mediator of gravitational interactions at the Planck scale in thought experiments; as a diagnostic tool for exploring gravity-quantum interface; or as a narrative device in science fiction to explain rapid early-universe transitions or the emergence of spacetime.

Experimentally, Planckun remains speculative; no empirical evidence exists. Proposals often treat Planckun as a theoretical limit or as a relic of Planck-era physics that could be probed indirectly through high-precision cosmological observations or quantum interferometry.
