Pladeforstærkninger

Pladeforstærkninger, often translated as plate reinforcement or backing plates, are commonly used in construction and engineering to strengthen or repair structural components, particularly in steel structures. They are typically flat pieces of metal, usually steel, that are attached to an existing structural element, such as a beam or column, to increase its load-bearing capacity or to repair damage.

The primary purpose of a pladeforstærkning is to redistribute stress. By adding extra material to a critical area, the load is spread over a larger surface, reducing the stress concentration at that point.
