Pivotspalte

PivotSpalte is a term used in the context of pivot tables to designate the column-oriented field that organizes data along the column axis. In a pivot table, fields can be assigned to columns, rows, and values; the PivotSpalte specifically refers to the field whose distinct values become the column headers of the resulting matrix.

Function and role

A PivotSpalte does not itself perform aggregation; rather it defines how data is sliced along the column dimension. The values area of the pivot table computes measures (such as sum, count, average) for each combination of row and column values. By moving a field to the column area, users create a cross-tabulated view where each column corresponds to a unique value of the PivotSpalte.

Common usage
