Pistostautien
Pistostautien is a genus of plants in the family Rutaceae, commonly known as citrus. The genus contains a single species, Pistostautien microcarpa. This species is native to the Mediterranean region, where it is found in coastal areas and on rocky slopes. Pistostautien microcarpa is a small, evergreen shrub that typically grows to a height of 1-2 meters. It has glossy, dark green leaves that are ovate in shape and have a serrated margin. The plant produces small, fragrant white flowers in the spring, followed by small, edible fruits that are yellow when ripe. The fruits are said to have a tart, citrus-like flavor. The genus name Pistostautien is derived from the Greek words "pistos" meaning faithful and "stautien" meaning standing, referring to the plant's ability to withstand harsh conditions. Pistostautien microcarpa has been used in traditional medicine for its purported anti-inflammatory and digestive properties. It is also sometimes grown as an ornamental plant for its attractive foliage and flowers. The plant is relatively easy to care for, preferring well-drained soil and full sun. It is moderately drought tolerant once established.
