Pistetehnikad

Pistetehnikad refers to a category of fishing techniques that involve the use of a lure or bait presented with a distinct, often repetitive, action. The term is broad and encompasses various methods employed by anglers to entice fish into striking. These techniques are characterized by the angler actively manipulating the fishing rod and reel to impart specific movements to the lure or bait.

Common pistetehnikad include jigging, wherein a weighted lure is repeatedly lifted and dropped to mimic wounded prey, and twitching, which involves short, sharp tugs of the rod tip to make a lure dart erratically. Other examples are popping, where a surface lure creates a disturbance on the water, and retrieve-and-stop, where the lure is retrieved for a short period and then allowed to pause. The effectiveness of each pistetehnikad often depends on the species of fish being targeted, their current behavior and location, and the type of lure or bait being used.
