Pilvandmebaas, also known as cloud computing, is a model for delivering Information Technology services where resources are retrieved from the internet through a cloud services platform. This model allows users to access and use computing resources, such as servers, storage, databases, networking, software, analytics, and intelligence, without the need for direct management of the underlying infrastructure.

Cloud computing offers several advantages, including scalability, flexibility, cost-efficiency, and accessibility. It enables businesses to scale their operations up or down based on demand, reducing the need for significant upfront capital investments in hardware and software. Additionally, cloud services can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection, providing greater flexibility and mobility for users.

IaaS provides virtualized computing resources over the internet, PaaS offers a platform allowing customers to develop, run, and manage applications without the complexity of building and maintaining the infrastructure typically associated with developing and launching an app, and SaaS delivers software applications over the internet, on a subscription basis.

It has also driven the growth of other technologies, such as big data, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things, by providing the necessary infrastructure and resources to support these advancements.
