PiPicoW

The Raspberry Pi Pico W is a low-cost, high-performance microcontroller board developed by the Raspberry Pi Foundation. It is an enhanced version of the original Raspberry Pi Pico, featuring integrated wireless connectivity. The Pico W is powered by the RP2040 microcontroller, which was designed by Raspberry Pi in the UK. This microcontroller features a dual-core ARM Cortex-M0+ processor running at up to 133MHz, 264KB of SRAM, and support for up to 16MB of off-chip Flash memory.

The key addition in the Pico W is its onboard wireless module, the CYW43439 from Infineon Technologies. This module provides 2.4GHz 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity. This allows the Pico W to connect to wireless networks and communicate with other Bluetooth devices, opening up a wide range of IoT and embedded projects.

The board offers a variety of peripherals, including 26 multi-function GPIO pins, 2 × SPI, 2 × I2C, 2 × UART, 3 × 12-bit ADC, and 16 × controllable PWM channels. It also includes a temperature sensor. The Pico W can be programmed using C/C++ or MicroPython, with extensive documentation and a supportive community available. Its small form factor and low power consumption make it suitable for projects ranging from simple blinking LEDs to more complex wireless sensor networks and IoT devices. The micro USB port is used for both power and programming.
