Phosphobetaines

Phosphobetaines are a class of zwitterionic compounds that contain both a positively charged quaternary phosphonium group and a negatively charged phosphate group. These molecules can be considered analogues of carboxylbetaines, where the carboxylate group is replaced by a phosphate group.
