Philippine American is a term used to describe a person of Filipino descent who lives in the United States. In practice, it is often used interchangeably with Filipino American, though some contexts distinguish a more explicit connection to the Philippines.

Significant growth followed the 1965 Immigration Act, which liberalized entry for skilled workers and family reunification. By the 2020 Census, people of Filipino origin numbered about 4.1 million in the United States, making them one of the largest Asian American groups.

Geographic distribution and community life: Major concentrations are in California (notably Los Angeles and the Bay Area), Hawaii, Nevada, New York, New Jersey, Texas, and Washington. Filipino Americans often maintain social and religious organizations, celebrate cultural festivals, and preserve languages such as Tagalog and Visayan varieties alongside English.

Economy and culture: They are represented across professions, with notable presence in healthcare, education, service industries, and the arts. Cultural contributions include cuisine, music, film, and literature, reflecting a fusion of Filipino heritage with American life.
