PflSchG
The Pflanzenschutzgesetz, often abbreviated as PflSchG, is a federal law in Germany that regulates the use of plant protection products. Its primary aim is to ensure the safe and responsible application of these substances to protect plants from pests, diseases, and weeds, while simultaneously safeguarding human health and the environment. The PflSchG sets out rules for the approval, marketing, and use of plant protection products, including requirements for their effectiveness, safety, and labeling. It also addresses the training and certification of individuals who apply these products, ensuring they possess the necessary knowledge and skills. Furthermore, the law establishes provisions for monitoring and controlling the residues of plant protection products in food and feed, setting maximum permissible limits to protect consumers. The PflSchG is a key piece of legislation within Germany's agricultural and environmental policy framework, contributing to sustainable agriculture and the protection of natural resources. It is regularly updated to align with European Union regulations and scientific advancements in the field of plant protection.
