Petrouchka
Petrouchka is a ballet with music by Igor Stravinsky and choreography by Vaslav Nijinsky. It was first performed by the Ballets Russes in Paris in 1911. The story is set during a Shrovetide fair in St. Petersburg. The ballet tells the tale of three puppets: Petrouchka, a melancholic puppet with a secret inner life; the Ballerina, his love interest; and the Moor, a rival for the Ballerina's affection.
