Petrolcülük

Petrolcülük is a Turkish term that generally refers to the exploration, extraction, processing, and distribution of petroleum. It encompasses the entire industry associated with crude oil and its derivatives. This includes geological surveys to locate potential oil reserves, drilling operations to access these reserves, and the transportation of crude oil to refineries.

Once extracted, crude oil is sent to refineries where it undergoes a complex process of fractional distillation and other chemical treatments to separate it into various products. These products include gasoline, diesel fuel, kerosene, jet fuel, lubricating oils, and asphalt, among others. The distribution phase involves transporting these refined products to consumers through pipelines, tankers, trucks, and rail.

The petroleum industry is a significant global economic force, influencing international relations and driving technological advancements. It is also a sector that faces considerable environmental scrutiny due to the potential for pollution and its contribution to greenhouse gas emissions.
