Permanenttiaineet, often referred to as perming solutions, are chemical formulations used in hair salons to permanently alter the structure of hair, creating curls or waves. The process typically involves two main chemical agents. The first, a reducing agent, breaks down the disulfide bonds within the hair's keratin structure. These bonds are responsible for the hair's natural shape. Once these bonds are weakened, the hair can be reshaped by wrapping it around rods or rollers of varying sizes.
After the hair has been set in its new shape, a second chemical, an oxidizing agent, is
