Peritonealsymptome

Peritoneale Symptome are signs and symptoms that indicate inflammation or irritation of the peritoneum, the serous membrane that lines the abdominal cavity and covers the abdominal organs. This condition is known as peritonitis.

The most common and significant symptom of peritonitis is severe abdominal pain. This pain is often diffuse, meaning it's not localized to one specific area, and is typically described as sharp and constant. It can worsen with movement, coughing, or deep breathing, a phenomenon known as rebound tenderness or guarding. Guarding is the involuntary tensing of abdominal muscles when the abdomen is touched.

Other common peritoneale Symptome include nausea and vomiting, which can be severe. Patients may also experience fever, chills, and a general feeling of malaise or illness. The abdomen may appear distended or swollen due to fluid accumulation or inflammation. Bowel sounds may be absent or decreased, indicating a lack of intestinal activity.

Changes in vital signs are also characteristic. Patients may have a rapid heart rate (tachycardia) and a drop in blood pressure (hypotension), especially in more severe cases. The abdomen may feel hard or rigid to the touch. These symptoms collectively point towards a serious underlying abdominal issue requiring prompt medical attention.
