Perineaalialue

Perineaalialue, often referred to as the perineum in English, is the anatomical region located between the anus and the pubic symphysis in mammals. In humans, it specifically refers to the area of skin and muscle situated between the scrotum and the anus in males, and between the vulva and the anus in females. This area is a crucial part of the pelvic floor.

The muscles within the perineum play a significant role in supporting the pelvic organs, including the bladder, uterus (in females), and rectum.
