Perfluoroalkylsulfonates

Perfluoroalkylsulfonates, often abbreviated as PFAS, are a class of synthetic organofluorine compounds characterized by a perfluorinated alkyl chain and a sulfonic acid functional group. The strong carbon-fluorine bonds in these molecules impart remarkable stability and resistance to heat, water, and oil.
