Pearlized
Pearlized describes a surface finish or material that displays a pearly, iridescent luster similar to natural pearls. The effect is achieved using pearlescent pigments, often based on mica platelets coated with metal oxides such as titanium dioxide or iron oxides, sometimes combined with additional interference pigments. When dispersed in coatings, plastics, cosmetics, or inks, these pigments reflect and refract light to produce subtle color shifts and a sense of depth.
Applications include automotive finishes, where pearlized paints yield a shimmering, multidimensional look; cosmetics, where pearlized powders
Manufacturing and materials vary: mica-based pearlescent pigments are common; some formulations use polymer particles or alternate
Limitations include higher cost, potential stability issues under UV light, and challenges in achieving uniform appearance
