ParisRoubaix

Paris–Roubaix is an annual professional one-day road cycling race held in northern France. It is one of the sport’s oldest and most prestigious events, classified as a UCI World Tour race and regarded as one of cycling’s five Monuments.

The race typically covers about 250 kilometers, starting in Compiègne and finishing at the Roubaix Velodrome. It is renowned for its cobbled sections, known as pavé, which include famous sectors such as the Trouée d’Arenberg, Mons-en-Pévèle, and the Carrefour de l’Arbre. The combination of rough roads, variable weather, and long, hard climbs tests rider endurance, bike handling, and race strategy. Successful results often hinge on a strong ride on the cobbles and a decisive finish on the velodrome.

Paris–Roubaix began in 1896 and has a long history of dramatic finishes and challenging conditions. Multiple winners include Roger De Vlaeminck (four wins) and Johan Museeuw (three wins). The race’s reputation as a brutal and iconic test of northern European cycling contributes to its high profile within the sport.
