Parapsykologian

Parapsykologia is the study of alleged psychic phenomena and other paranormal claims, often referred to as psi. These phenomena are typically categorized into three main areas: extrasensory perception (ESP), psychokinesis (PK), and survival after death. ESP encompasses abilities such as telepathy (mind-to-mind communication), clairvoyance (perceiving distant events), and precognition (perceiving future events). Psychokinesis, also known as telekinesis, refers to the purported ability to influence physical objects or processes with the mind. Survival after death explores phenomena like mediumship and reincarnation.

The field of parapsychology is considered a pseudoscience by the mainstream scientific community due to the lack of reproducible evidence and the failure to adhere to established scientific methodologies. While some researchers in parapsychology employ scientific methods, the results are often debated and lack widespread acceptance within physics, biology, and psychology. Critiques often focus on methodological flaws, statistical anomalies, and the difficulty in ruling out conventional explanations for reported experiences, such as coincidence, fraud, or psychological biases.

Despite the scientific skepticism, parapsychology continues to be explored by a dedicated group of researchers and enthusiasts. Organizations and universities in various countries conduct research, often on a smaller scale, seeking to understand these unexplained phenomena. The debate between parapsychology and mainstream science remains ongoing, with proponents advocating for open-minded investigation and critics emphasizing the need for rigorous, falsifiable evidence.
