Paramagnetico

Paramagnetico is a term often used in Spanish to describe something or someone exhibiting paramagnetism. Paramagnetism is a property of materials that are weakly attracted by an external magnetic field. In a paramagnetic material, the individual atoms or molecules possess permanent magnetic dipole moments. However, these moments are randomly oriented in the absence of an external field, resulting in no net magnetization. When an external magnetic field is applied, these dipoles tend to align themselves with the field, creating a small, positive magnetization in the same direction as the field. This alignment is opposed by the thermal motion of the atoms, which tends to randomize their orientation. Therefore, paramagnetism is temperature-dependent, with the magnetic susceptibility decreasing as temperature increases. Common paramagnetic materials include aluminum, platinum, and oxygen. The term "paramagnetico" would therefore refer to a material exhibiting these characteristics or, metaphorically, to a person or entity that is susceptible to influence or attraction, much like a paramagnetic material is to a magnetic field, though this metaphorical use is less common in scientific contexts.
