Papermakerin is the feminine form of the occupation name for a person who makes paper from cellulose fibers, typically associated with the craft of papermaking or with work in paper mills. In practice, the term may be used to refer to a woman working as a papermaker, though modern usage often prefers gender-neutral terms for the occupation.

Papermaking is a process that converts plant fibers into sheets of paper. Traditionally, paper is produced by converting fibers such as wood pulp, cotton linters, or other bast fibers into a slurry, refining or beating the fibers, and forming sheets on screens or using industrial machinery.
