Panteismia

Panteismia is a philosophical concept that proposes a non-dualistic understanding of reality, suggesting that consciousness and the physical universe are not separate entities but are, in fact, identical. This view posits that the universe itself is a conscious entity, and all individual consciousnesses are merely expressions or facets of this universal consciousness. Therefore, the distinction between the observer and the observed, the internal and the external, is an illusion.

In panteismia, there is no inherent duality between mind and matter, spirit and flesh. Instead, the totality of existence, encompassing all physical phenomena and all subjective experiences, is understood as a unified, singular consciousness. This universal consciousness is not a creator in a traditional sense, but rather the fundamental substance and animating principle of all that is. Individual beings, by virtue of being part of this universe, are inherently imbued with this same consciousness.

The implications of panteismia are profound, often leading to a sense of interconnectedness and oneness with all of existence. Ethical considerations may arise from this perspective, suggesting that harm to any part of the universe is, in essence, harm to oneself. It offers a framework for understanding phenomena such as intuition, synchronicity, and subjective experience as direct manifestations of the universal conscious field. While not a widely adopted formal philosophy, its principles resonate with certain spiritual traditions and contemplative practices.
