Palvelinkäyttäjä, often translated as "server user" or "service account" in English, refers to an account that is used by a server application or a background process to access resources on a computer system or network. Unlike a regular user account, which is typically associated with a human being, a palvelinkäyttäjä is designed for automated operations. These accounts are often granted specific, limited privileges necessary for the service to function, rather than broad access rights. This principle of least privilege helps to enhance security by minimizing the potential damage if the service account is compromised.
