Paleontoloogiale

Paleontoloogiale is the scientific study of life that existed prior to, and in some cases at the beginning of, the Holocene Epoch. It is an interdisciplinary science that draws on geology, biology, and archaeology. Paleontologists seek to understand the history of life on Earth by examining fossilized remains of organisms, as well as trace fossils and other geological evidence.

Micropaleontology is concerned with microscopic fossils, which are often used in stratigraphy for dating rock layers and in petroleum exploration.
