Pakolaisasioissa is a Finnish term that translates to "in refugee matters" or "regarding refugees." This includes the legal framework governing asylum applications, the reception system for those seeking protection, and the integration process for individuals granted asylum.

The Finnish Immigration Service, Migri, is the primary authority responsible for handling asylum applications and making decisions on who is granted protection. This involves assessing the safety of the applicant's country of origin and determining if they meet the criteria for asylum under Finnish and international law. Rejected applicants have the right to appeal these decisions.
