Paistanut

Paistanut is a term used in culinary and market contexts to refer to peanuts associated with Pakistan. It is not a formal botanical name and does not denote a distinct plant species; in most usages it points to the common peanut (Arachis hypogaea) that is grown and consumed in Pakistan and neighboring regions. The designation reflects geographic origin more than taxonomy and may appear on product labels, menus, or regional recipes.

The plant known as peanut is a low, bushy annual legume. It develops underground pods containing kernels, which distinguishes peanuts from most other nuts.
