Paineilmalähteet, also known as compressed air sources, are systems designed to provide a continuous supply of air at a pressure higher than the ambient atmospheric pressure. These systems are fundamental to a wide range of industrial, commercial, and even domestic applications. The primary component of most paineilmalähteet is a compressor, which works by reducing the volume of air, thereby increasing its pressure.

There are several types of air compressors commonly used.
