PagIBIGs

PagIBIGs are members and associated accounts of the Pag-IBIG Fund, the Home Development Mutual Fund of the Philippines. The fund is a government-owned financial institution that provides workers with savings facilities and affordable housing loans.

Membership is open to employed workers in both private and public sectors, as well as self-employed and voluntary members. Employers typically remit monthly contributions on behalf of their employees; self-employed and voluntary members contribute directly. Contributions earn dividends and can be withdrawn under certain conditions.

The Fund offers programs including regular savings, housing loans, and short-term loans such as Multi-Purpose Loans and Calamity Loans. It also administers the MP2 program (Modified Pag-IBIG II), a voluntary long-term savings option with potentially higher yields.

Housing loans help members acquire or improve their homes; these loans can finance acquisition, construction, or rehabilitation of a dwelling, subject to eligibility and program rules. Short-term options like Multi-Purpose Loans and Calamity Loans provide additional financing alternatives for members. Loan approvals typically depend on savings history, contribution status, income, and compliance with program requirements.

The Fund is governed by a Board of Trustees and overseen by the government. It operates nationwide through branches and an online platform, MyPagIBIG, which offers services for account management, loan applications, and claim processing.
