PTTK

PTTK stands for Polskie Towarzystwo Turystyczno-Krajoznawcze, the Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society. It is a national non-governmental organization in Poland dedicated to promoting tourism, hiking, cycling, mountaineering, and krajoznawstwo (local heritage and geography). The organization traces its origins to the postwar period and was formally established in 1950 through the consolidation of pre-war and wartime tourist groups. It has grown into one of Poland’s largest civilian bodies focused on outdoor recreation and education.

PTTK coordinates a broad range of activities. It maintains networks of mountain huts, guesthouses, and hostels
