PIAACtuloksia

PISA-TULOKSIa is a cognitive ability assessment developed by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) to measure adult skills in reading, mathematics, and problem-solving in technology-rich environments. It is a follow-on to the Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competences (PIAAC), which was first conducted in 2012.

PIAAC-TULOKSIa aims to investigate the relationship between adult skills and socio-economic outcomes, such as employment, education, and health. The assessment focuses on adults aged 16-65, with an emphasis on the skills required in the digital age. It consists of a combination of paper-based and computer-based tasks designed to simulate real-world situations.

Administered in 2015, the first round of PIAAC-TULOKSIa assessments gathered data from over 10,000 adults in 34 countries. The results provided insights into the skills proficiency levels of adults across regions, highlighting disparities and trends in adult education and training.

The assessment covers three areas of skills:

* literacy, which includes comprehension and critical thinking skills in various contexts

* numeracy, focusing on mathematical concepts and problem-solving abilities in everyday situations

* problem-solving in technology-rich environments, which involves resolving complex problems using digital tools and information

The OECD uses the PIAAC-TULOKSIa findings to inform policy decisions and to help countries enhance their adult education systems, aiming to develop more effective education and training programs that meet the evolving skills demands of the labour market.
