Mutations in the PDGFR tyrosine kinase gene have been associated with various diseases, including chronic myeloid leukemia and gastrointestinal stromal tumors. These mutations can lead to constitutive activation of the receptor, resulting in uncontrolled cell proliferation and tumor formation.
