It refers to a framework that categorizes the directions or orientations researchers and designers consider when analyzing personal computing tasks, interfaces, and software architectures. The concept emphasizes that different problems in personal computing can be understood through distinct directional perspectives, helping educators and practitioners compare approaches and outcomes.
