PANFasern
PANFasern, which stands for polyacrylonitrile fibers, are synthetic fibers derived from acrylonitrile. They are known for their high strength, excellent resistance to chemicals and weathering, and good thermal stability. PANFasern are often used as precursors for the production of carbon fibers due to their high carbon content after heat treatment. This process, known as carbonization, removes non-carbon elements, leaving behind a material with exceptional stiffness and strength. In addition to carbon fiber production, PANFasern are also utilized directly in various applications. They find use in textiles, particularly in outdoor fabrics, carpets, and upholstery, due to their durability and resistance to fading. Their flame-retardant properties also make them suitable for safety clothing and industrial filters. The manufacturing process typically involves spinning a solution of polyacrylonitrile into filaments, which are then dried and subjected to further treatments to achieve desired properties. The versatility of PANFasern allows for a wide range of end-uses across different industries.
