These systems provide a comfortable and efficient way to heat buildings by distributing heat evenly from the floor upwards. The pipes are typically made of durable materials like PEX (cross-linked polyethylene) or copper, chosen for their flexibility, resistance to high temperatures and pressure, and longevity.

Installation involves laying these pipes in a specific pattern across the subfloor before the final flooring layer is applied. The pattern is designed to ensure uniform heat distribution throughout the room, preventing cold spots. The pipes are connected to a manifold, which controls the flow of heated water or a glycol mixture to each circuit. The water is heated by a boiler or heat pump.

The advantages of underfloor heating include energy efficiency, as lower water temperatures can be used compared to traditional radiators, and improved indoor air quality due to reduced air circulation and dust movement. The absence of visible radiators also frees up wall space, offering greater design flexibility.
