Oznaující

Oznaující is a term encountered in speculative linguistic discussions as a proposed grammatical category describing a verb-derived form whose function is to mark that the utterance introduces an announcement to the listener. It is not widely attested in standard grammars or dictionaries.

Etymology: The form appears to be built from the Czech root meaning "to announce" (oznám- or oznam-) with the present-participle suffix -ující; the spelling oznaující reflects a hypothetical phonological rendering or a dialectal variant. Because it is not yet established in reference works, etymological details vary among authors.

Usage: In early analytic proposals, an oznaující element would act as a discourse-marker-like device that signals the speaker is presenting information as an announcement. It may interact with other markers in a sentence or discourse, functioning at the level of discourse pragmatics rather than core syntax. Examples: Because the term is speculative, concrete, standardized examples are scarce. Some formulations describe an oznaující tag preceding or embedded within a clause to flag the act of announcing the upcoming information.
