Oxigénbejutás refers to the process by which oxygen enters a biological system. This is a fundamental physiological process for aerobic organisms, as oxygen is essential for cellular respiration, the metabolic pathway that generates energy in the form of ATP. The efficiency and mechanisms of oxygen intake vary greatly depending on the organism and its environment.

In simple multicellular organisms, oxygen diffusion can occur directly across the body surface. More complex organisms have evolved specialized respiratory organs to facilitate efficient oxygen uptake. In humans and other terrestrial vertebrates, this is achieved through the lungs, where oxygen from inhaled air diffuses across thin membranes in the alveoli into the bloodstream. The circulatory system then transports this oxygen to the body's tissues. Aquatic organisms, such as fish, utilize gills, which are structures with a large surface area adapted for extracting dissolved oxygen from water.

The rate of oxygenbejutás is influenced by several factors, including the concentration of oxygen in the environment, the surface area available for gas exchange, the diffusion distance, and the presence of a transport mechanism like blood.
