OstravaKarviná

OstravaKarviná is a statistical metropolitan area located in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. It encompasses the cities of Ostrava and Karviná along with their surrounding municipalities. This region is historically significant for its heavy industrial heritage, particularly coal mining and steel production. Ostrava, the largest city in the area, serves as the economic and cultural center. Karviná, located to the northeast, is also a major industrial city with a strong mining tradition.

The metropolitan area has a population of over one million people, making it the second most populous urban agglomeration in the Czech Republic after Prague.
